Motivated by the belief in the potential of every person, Mary has spent 30+ years in the non-profit sector and gained a perspective as both an employee and volunteer board member. As an executive leader, Mary implemented best practices and partnered with the community and funding sources to successfully address needs and gaps in services for various populations. She led the onboarding of programs and employees during acquisitions, supporting employees during the transition and utilizing change management theories and processes. 

Over the years Mary's understanding and appreciation grew for a nonprofit's greatest asset, the employees. She led Human Resources teams that respected compliance needs while creating innovative and customized processes to improve the employee experience.  Her initiatives increased talent engagement, empowered management and increased employee retention. 

As a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach and an Adventure Learning Teambuilding facilitator, Mary has created opportunities for individuals and organizations to step out of their daily routine and to dedicate time to focus on strength development, building relationships, trust, cooperation, leadership and critical thinking. Long term benefits have included deeper personal insights, improved team performance, more effective communication skills, higher levels of trust and a greater willingness to take calculated risks. 

Mary is a trained Nonprofit Lifecycle Consultant, building an understanding of the direct relationship between a nonprofit organization’s operating capacity and the ability to effectively deliver the services and programs defined in their mission. This is done by providing a practical frame of reference for the predictable challenges and growing pains organizations experience. Additionally, Mary is trained through the Sustained Collaboration Network to provide technical support to nonprofit organizations who are exploring sustained collaboration as a way to strengthen capacity and maximize impact in the sector.
