As a longtime champion of social justice, after nearly 20 years as a nonprofit leader, Jessye realized she could have an even greater impact in the Arizona sector by working alongside multiple teams and across organizational lines. She is among a handful of Valley consultants working actively in the Interim Executive capacity. Her non-profit expertise includes strategic planning, grant-writing and research, program strategy/development, and strengthening operations and administrative systems.
Jessye understands the unique needs and operations of managing a nonprofit, from programs to internal functions. Before joining Avenir, she served for 8 1/2 years with the Arizona Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence as the Deputy Director, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Strategy Officer. Jessye was an integral part of transforming organizational culture and making space for all staff to feel valued and part of a larger movement.
After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Justice Studies from ASU, she earned a Master of Public Administration with an emphasis in Government and Policy from Grand Canyon University. She also maintains her content expertise in intimate and gender-based violence as a Research Specialist with Arizona State University School of Social Work.
When she’s not saving the world, Jessye loves spending time with her family, attending rock concerts, and eating at all the fantastic local restaurants.
